Details

GEONOSIS table lamp handcrafted with 3D printing techniques is designed to create a soft and diffused light perfect for a relaxing and fascinating lighting scenario.
The lamp has essential and technical geometric shapes that make it particularly suitable for modern environments, but when it is turned on it comes to life revealing its magic.
Its main feature is the diffuser, which when lit reveals an intricate pattern of hexagons that is not just an aesthetic detail, but an element that expresses the essence of the lamp.
The natural translucency characteristics of PLA enhance the complex geometry of the diffuser and help create a well-diffused and very pleasant light. The geometric pattern was designed to reflect and amplify the light, creating a warm and sophisticated atmosphere, making Geonosis ideal for those who love a modern and technical aesthetic, capable of giving personality to any space.

The light source is entrusted to a LED bulb with an e14 socket positioned in the lamp body, accessible by removing the diffuser and its support.

NOTES:

This table lamp is made with 3D printing techniques that use PLA filaments, a bioplastic material derived from corn.
PLA is biodegradable and compostable through specific processes.

In the finished piece, some typical elements of the 3D printing production process are visible, which are to be considered in all respects as peculiar characteristics of the printing process, such as the vertical line that runs along the entire back of the object called “seam ” which represents the point at which the printer changes printing layer to the next.

Observing the lamp closely, the individual printing levels are visible even to the naked eye.
Other small imperfections are part of the history of the product and its production technology which makes the product semi-artisanal.

The 3D printing process requires almost 16 hours of work to create all the components of the lamp. PLA (polylactic acid) is a bioplastic derived from renewable sources, such as corn starch and sugar cane, which offers a valid alternative to traditional plastic derived from petroleum.
This material is compostable in industrial conditions, biodegradable and has a low environmental impact, aligning with a design philosophy that looks to the future in a responsible way.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:
Use only LED light bulbs.
High temperatures generated by old traditional incandescent light bulbs (not LED) could cause serious damage to the bioplastic used to make this product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Manutenzione

It is important to use only LED bulbs.
The bio-plastic material used to make the lamps (PLA) is negatively affected by other temperatures. It is therefore mandatory to use only LED bulbs to avoid raising the operating temperature of the lamp too much.
